Weihai Four-Day, Three-Night Extended Travel Guide

Transportation:
We chose high-speed rail, which takes about 7 hours. Upon arrival in Weihai, there’s no need to worry about transportation. You can join a day tour group or use taxis and Didi ride-hailing services. It’s recommended to download the Hua Xiaozhu app for taxi services starting at 8 yuan, which is very affordable.

Accommodation:
The hotel value for money in Weihai is quite high. We stayed in a guesthouse with a beautiful environment; stepping out the door, you face the sea view with the sunset castle opposite. It’s fairy-tale beautiful (Guesthouse: Bu Wan Guesthouse), priced at around 200 yuan and up. However, if you prefer convenience for dining and shopping, I suggest staying near Torch Eight Street or Hanlefang. The cost of taking a taxi from our hotel to Hanlefang is about 40 yuan. It’s a short distance from Torch Eight Street/Little Stone Island/International Bathing Beach, just a starting price away.

Next, I’ll share some food experiences, both hits and misses:

  1. Yitong Soup Pot
This was our first stop in Weihai, and the portions are large—don’t overorder!
Recommendations: Mitten Crab Pot/Squid Pot/Pork Intestine Pot are all delicious and reasonably priced at an average of 40 yuan per person.
  2. Breakfast on the second day
We ordered takeout from our mom’s seaweed buns (a highly recommended shop online).
I think it was a miss—not tasty, just like dumplings 🥟.
If you want to try, I suggest ordering the shrimp ones.
  3. Hanlefang Big Pig BBQ
This was a store I found by chance, and it turned out to be very delicious.
Remember to check the set meal options on Dazhong Dianping as à la carte pricing is quite expensive.
We ordered a set meal for two.
  4. Lao Bei Wei
Their signature dish is fried cakes, which are really, really delicious.
It’s sold by weight, so try mixing and matching flavors—they’re all tasty. I wouldn’t recommend the sugar one though. They also have accompanying coffee ☕️ that you can order together.
  5. Qunxiang Mart (Hanlefang branch)
It’s a Korean supermarket with a huge variety of items. Consider planning a visit to Hanlefang on your last day to buy some stuff to take home!
  6. Hua Jie Spicy Hot Pot (a Northeastern cuisine restaurant)
Found this place through Xiaohongshu, known for their signature pot-wrapped pork, which is supposed to be especially delicious. However, I think it was a miss for me—not tasty, so I don’t recommend it. The duck head tasted okay, but if you don’t eat spicy food… this place isn’t for you.
  7. Haode Bakery
This bakery located in the old town area specializes in various specialty buns. Recommend the black rice, peanut, and yellow millet—all very tasty, along with their signature meat floss!
  8. Han Xiang Fu Barbecue Top Scholar
This is a chain store; you can search for one nearby to dine at. The barbecue tastes great, and the meat is tender. The average price per person is around 100 yuan—highly recommended for a visit.
  9. A Shui Big Cup Tea
Signature drinks: mint and jasmine are both delicious.
  10. Shan Hai Jian Fried Sauce Noodles
I really recommend their fried sauce noodles—absolutely delicious. Edit the previous text without changing the meaning and add headings.
